What a great song and singer she is. At 60 years I still get that haunting teary feeling hearing her again. My wife and I named our daughter after her and it’s rather uncanny but my Melanie looks very similar to Melanie Safka.

I loved what somebody named warlordky said in the comments section with regard to this song and I quote

“I think this is her absolute best. Takes me back,really takes me back, to a time of being bulletproof and living forever. I think I may have a half empty bottle in the back of the fridge, love to you all”

Yeah. It takes me back to when I too was bullet proof and would live for ever. How true is that.

Now as I reflect on my life I am so glad to have had the privilege of being born a baby boomer.

Living in the 60′s was great. It sure was such a simple way of life in a lot of ways, we had no instant news, no computers, no cell phones the list goes on and on.

We had plenty of jobs, loads of weekends outside at the beach, lots of sunburn and o yeah we were bullet proof and would live for ever……………………….. I think I’ve got some left over wine.
